Ambiguous Date Formats
There are many examples around on the Internet and, more importantly, in
everyday life. Here are a few. Please email me
as you come across them.
From Sam Nelson in the U.K.
I came across a bottle of pills a couple of months ago in a cupboard, with the
legend `Expiry: 04/01' on it. One wonders if that means
`this year, 1st April'
`this year, 4th January'
`last day of 2004-01'
`last day of 2001-04'
or possibly some other date I haven't thought of. This was a prescription
drug here---it could matter!
Here is another excellent
link talking about expiry dates
