What's this all about then?

I live on the top of a hill (650 feet up) on the western side of the fourth largest city in the UK.  We get battered by the strong winds but we have a view due west which gives us fabulous sunsets throughout the year.  The vista is also free of bad light pollution so the skies are dark as well - useful, as I am the President of the Sheffield Astronomical Society !
